Buckinghamshire Council processes Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checks for those working in regulated and other activities within the Council where DBS Checks may be obtained. The Council acts as an umbrella body to provide DBS Checks on behalf of other organisations that are eligible to access Criminal Records Data.
DBS Checks are only sought for those individuals whose job or role makes that person eligible for a Check – including basic, standard or enhanced DBS Checks.
Buckinghamshire Council’s safeguarding service also provides support to schools, Services and other organisations making recruitment decisions for those individuals with previous convictions, cautions, warnings and reprimands.
Buckinghamshire Council operates a full safer recruitment service and works closely with the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Children’s Board to ensure best practice within the County as a whole.
